What We Believe

The Scriptures:

We believe that the Bible was written by men, inspired by the Holy Spirit and is the infallible Word of God.

God:

We believe there is one true and living God, creator of all things and is infinitely perfect. He exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each are distinct persons, but yet are one.

Jesus Christ:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross and was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried, rose from the dead, ascended back to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father.

The Holy Spirit:

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. The Holy Spirit reveals and teaches us about Jesus. The Holy Spirit brings glory to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and regenerates the believing sinner. The Holy Spirit instructs, guides, and empowers followers of Christ to do the will of God. The Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God according to the Scriptures, and gives revelation of God to followers of Christ.

Baptism:

We believe in water baptism as was taught and demonstrated by Jesus. Water baptism is a way for followers of Christ to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe it is symbolic of the death of our old nature through the washing away of our sins and a resurrection to a new and abundant life in Christ.

We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Once Jesus Christ is accepted in one’s life, one is baptized with the Holy Spirit in order to have the power to carry out the will of God for one’s life. This is a gift from God, and the Holy Spirit gives gifts to us as He wills according to the Scriptures. We believe in the manifestation of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit such as: prophecy, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, miracles, healings, words of wisdom, words of knowledge, etc. as the Holy Spirit gives utterance.

Salvation:

We believe that those who believe in faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of humankind and rose from the dead is the way to salvation. Salvation is a gift from God. In receiving Christ through faith, one is born of the Holy Spirit and becomes a child of God. Mankind, although created in the image of God, sinned against God causing the fall of humanity. It was through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice that allows us to get back in right relationship with God. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can humankind have salvation and complete the will of God the Father. We believe Jesus Christ will return and those who accepted Him will dwell with Him eternally in heaven. We believe there is a heaven and a hell.

Spiritual Gifts:

We believe that all spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit are still in full operation today. We also believe that all 5 spiritual gift offices mentioned in the Scriptures are still in full operation today for the equipping of the saints and edifying of the body of Christ according to the Scriptures, which are: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.
